Why Choose A Pembrokshire Holiday?

Pembrokeshire is Britain's only truly coastal National Park and is a county so diverse that it provides a perfect holiday setting for just about everyone. Coast and country are also so close together that one minute you can be strolling through woodland and hiking over footpaths and fields and the next you are paddling though clear waters on one of Pembrokeshire's many award winning beaches.

The north of the county is home to some of the most rugged coastal terrain in the country which makes it perfect for thrill seekers searching for an adventure filled activity weekend from cliff jumping and rock climbing to kayaking around the coastal caves and deep sea diving, whilst the south of the county is slightly more tame and home to the popular seaside resorts of Tenby and Saundersfoot as well as the quaint market town of Narberth with its cosy eateries and delicious delicatessens.

The 186 mile coast path creates the perfect excuse to come back to Pembrokeshire time and time again in a a quest to cover the whole path from Amroth in the south to St Dogmaels in the north. The Pembrokeshire Coast Path really shows off the true beauty and diversity of the incredible Pembrokeshire coast and, with many pubs, villages and towns scattered along the way you will get to really experience the famous Pembrokeshire hospitality.

The tourist committees in the towns and villages of Pembrokeshire are constantly striving to give visitors a reason to return with events like the Saundersfoot St Nicholas Market in December, Summer Spectaculars throughout the summer in Tenby, The St David's Day Market in Saundersfoot in March and the Pembrokeshire Fish Week which sees events running across the county in June as well as many other events throughout the county and throughout the year.

So when you get to Pembrokeshire, where should you stay? Being a famous holiday destination there are many different options from a tent or a caravan to a hotel, B and B or self-catering accommodation. If your stay is going to be short (1 or 2 nights) then a B and B or hotel would more than likely suit your needs, but if you are staying for longer then a self-catering holiday cottage or apartment is the perfect way to spend the days exploring and the evenings relaxing. Self-catering accommodation in the area ranges from basic to luxurious and, from sea-front apartments to cottages in more rural settings. With so many holiday homes to choose from, you can be sure to find the perfect holiday home to suit your needs and budget.
